As school districts consider the impacts and opportunities of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) they need to strategically manage their purchasing to ensure they are achieving maximum value from this legislation. While not every state will receive funding, those that do need to think carefully about how these additional funds can best be put to use. What do you need to know?

ESSA funding will help to support tech, STEAM and counseling for the 2017-2018 school year in some districts. The replacement to No Child Left Behind is offering greater flexibility and opportunity for districts to decide, at a local level, what’s most important to the students they serve. ESSA was one of the hot topics at ISTE 2016, and an issue that school districts should be exploring locally now to determine whether they will be eligible for funding, and to begin discussions on where to apply these dollars.
