Social media is becoming a greater focus at both the K-12 and higher ed levels with administrators and teachers finding that social media provides a good way to stay in touch with parents and the community at large. In higher ed, the use of social media is playing a larger role in recruitment. This recent survey by FrontRow Education provides some insights into how social media is being used by educators. It’s important for school systems to ensure that they have a handle on how, and by whom, social media is being used. There are many potential benefits for engagement, but also some risks that need to be considered.
