While CIOs in the corporate sector are sitting on top of healthy budgets, according to a TEKsystems survey, the same is not true of their colleagues in educational institutions where budget cutbacks are the norm. That’s not good news, particularly in an environment where technology is increasingly in demand and legacy systems are quickly outmoded. What can administrators do to address these challenges?

Budget cuts breed innovation say some and there are examples and use cases to support this. Cloud technology is just one option that increasingly holds opportunity to do more with less. Beginning conversations and developing collaboration between administrators, instructors, IT staff, and students, can be a good way to identify options and explore solutions that will be mutually beneficial.
